Buying and selling
Paste a contract address, read the token card, and place buy or sell orders that are simulated before they run.
Trading on Sherwood is built around one action: paste a contract address. From there the bot does the reading, pricing and safety checks, and you decide the size.
The token card
Paste any Robinhood Chain token address into the chat and Sherwood replies with a card built from live chain state:
- Price and market cap — derived from the token's pool, not a third-party index.
- Liquidity — how much WETH backs the pool, which tells you how far your order will move the price.
- Volume and transaction count — recent trading activity.
- Holders — how many addresses hold the token.
- Creator share and top-10 concentration — how much of the supply sits in a few wallets. High concentration is a risk flag worth reading before you buy.
Everything here is computed from the chain, so it reflects the token as it actually is at that moment.
Buying
Under the card you get quick-buy buttons — 0.01, 0.05, 0.1 ETH — plus a
custom amount. Pick a size and Sherwood:
- Prices the order against the pool.
- Simulates it against the chain. If the trade would revert — no liquidity, a transfer restriction, whatever the reason — you are told before any gas is spent.
- Shows you the expected output and the fees.
- Executes only when you confirm.
Simulation is the key safety step. Reserves and other on-chain signals can look fine and a trade can still fail; running it against the chain first is the only reliable way to know it will go through.
Selling
From /positions, choose a token and sell a percentage — 25%, 50%, 100%, or a
custom amount. Sells go through the same price-then-simulate-then-confirm path as
buys.
Slippage and limits
/settings controls your slippage tolerance and per-trade limits. Slippage is how far
the price is allowed to move between quoting and execution before the order is
cancelled — too tight and volatile tokens fail to fill, too loose and you accept a
worse price. The default is a sensible middle ground you can adjust.
Fees
Sherwood charges a 1% service fee per trade. Pons' pools charge their own 1% pool fee on swaps. Both are shown on the confirmation card before you commit, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
